Away for four days.....

Bo is Beginning his 3rd week at Palm Desert Police Station, again, this is going by really fast! I think one of the reasons my weeks are flying by is because when Bo is working he is staying out in Palm Desert, so Wednesday night through Saturday night I am without him. It has taken some getting used to that is for sure, it is weird to sleep in a bed by myself, and in hopes of feeling like I am not by myself in this bed, I pile all the extra pillows under the covers next me. Theses times away have really made the time we do have together very sweet, it almost feels like we are dating again. We talk on the phone a whole lot more, tell each other about our days cause we are not there to experience them together, and are very rigid about going on a date one of the 3 nights he is home. I was taking this whole away-four-nights-a-week thing kind of hard at first, but the Lord has brought many other opportunities for me to fill my time. For example, it seems that ever since Bo started the academy we have been MIA from Kaleo, totally taken a backseat, within that time Kaleo has grown...a ton. Having four nights that I need to fill, has opened up so much more room for ministry, we had a girls night at the house the other night that was SO fun, it was great to get all the ladies together!
I am really excited to see how God is going to use this time in our marriage. I know He has ordained this for a great purpose.

Bo is doing great by the way, his FTO (field training officer) has told him that he is "way ahead of the game", whatever that means, it sounds good though. Bo has already ran into some pretty serious situations in which I am sure he would be happy to fill you in on all the details if you even hint around the subject. He is very enthusiastic about his work, and God has given him many opportunities to minister the gospel to those he is with.

Please pray for his safety out there (I know many of you already are!), that he would be wise in dealing with the people he comes in contact with. Please pray for me that I would be fruitful with my available time, and that I would still find ways to serve my husband even when he is away.

What a great day this was!! So many of our good friends were there to celebrate with us too!

Apparently there was one more thing that had to be done.....
(it was filmed sideways....and I don't know how to fix that, so just tilt your head a bit)

There's a New Deputy Sheriff in Town!

Paphaychith Bo Sivilay is a new Deputy Sheriff!! I am so proud of him, he has worked so hard, it was at some points a very long 6 months, but when I look back it really flew by, we both had been looking forward to this day for the last couple months. The graduation was great! He had close to 40 people show up to cheer him on, it is so nice to know that we have that kind of love and support. Bo was the only one who smiled while getting their badge, which was pinned on by my uncle Bob who is a retired sergeant from Costa Mesa PD. They only let family members who are or have been in law enforcement of some kind pin badges. My Aunt and Uncle have helped us out so much (as well as tons of other people), so we thought he could do the honors, my Uncle Bob loves Bo and the reason Bo had a huge smile on his face is because when he was walking towards my uncle to get pinned, my uncle kept saying, "Bo your such a stud, your such a stud Bo." Bo was laughing!

Bo and his friend Peter Martin, Peter picked Bo up everyday since the third week of the academy, he was such a huge help! Thanks Peter!

Bo with all the Sivilay Women, Tyna (Bo's mom) always says Lauren is like her daughter, she loves her.
My love and I, showing off his gun.

One proud Wife!

Bo with his dad and Josiah, Josiah is really proud of his brother.
Bo and his grandma on his mom's side.

Bo with my Grandma Lola, we were at lunch before the graduation.

Bo and the Tinahui Family, I love them to death!

Bo with Josh and Naim

There were so many people there and we didn't get pictures with all of them, some left early, but we are so thankful to have all of you in our lives! I was overwhelmed by all your love for our family, keep Bo in your prayers he will be patrolling the streets of Palm Desert staring Wednesday, and for at least the first month he is on graveyards. WE love you guys so much, thanks for all coming out!

Class 175 Dinner!

Bo had a senior class banquet/dinner, last Friday for an end of the academy celebration. All the recruits had a final that afternoon that they all found out they passed, it was their LAST test! So all of them were in high spirits, it was a pretty fun night. They showed the class video, which is crazy, they showed little snippets of all the things they did during the academy. It was good to finally get to meet everyone and get to know some of the wives and girlfriends a little better.

Oh and by the way...Bo is stationed in Palm Desert on Patrol! We are really excited that he got to go on patrol, but bummed it is so far, but in 2 years he can put in for a transfer, so it is not permanent, whew!

Thanks Tim Marman for taking all the pictures!!

Bo drew all the center piece signs for the tables, then they made copies.

It was at the Marriot in Riverside, it was really nice, and the food was delish!

Trying to look tough, but kind of cracking smiles. Soon to be fighting crime in a city near you!

Why we took pictures with our drinks....I don't know.

Here are some of the guys that Bo hangs out with Peter Martin with his wife Jessica, Bo & Me, Laura and Paul Salazar, Lou Zaragoza with his wife.

Here is the View from the lanai......

My cute brothers catching wild turkey chicks on the property.

Looking up at the house.

another view from the Lanai, it is about 20 minutes to the town of Kona, and about 30 minutes to Waimea, and about 20 minutes to the beach, there is good snorkeling and surfing in Kona.

Yeah this kind of freaked me out a little, that thing is almost as big as him, but who am I kidding, these kids are out of control.

Pepper Spray....Nice

Bo had the pleasure of being pepper sprayed in the face the other day for the academy. I asked him "on a scale of 1-10, how bad was it?", his response "11,000". He said he wouldn't have wished it on his worst enemy. He also got tear gassed, they put everyone in a room and lit off 4 tear gas bombs and made them walk out single file, Bo....was at the end of the line. He said people were throwing up, dry heaving, gasping for air, and it felt like your lungs were coming out your throat. HOW AWFUL! Here is some pictures and a short video for your viewing pleasure...or not.

THIS IS BO BEFORE THE PEPPER SPRAY...............

HERE IS BO AFTER.....................

MY POOR LOVE...................

Anyway, Bo had to wash with dish soap twice, and he said it felt like someone was taking a blow torch to your face for 2 hours, water only made it worse. All ladies should have this on their key chain, the women said it was worse than childbirth (epidural? no epidural? I don't know). How horrible though.

2nd Anniversary!!

June 17th marked Our 2nd Anniversary!! I cannot believe how fast it has gone! It has been such a great 2 years, we are looking forward to MANY MANY more. I can't wait to see what the Lord has for our lives together, He has already grown us so much through being married to each other. Bo is such a joy to be married to, I cannot imagine someone any better for me. Praise the Lord for his glorious grace in our lives!

I thought Bo was going to have band practice for church, but it was canceled last minute so we decided to go to our favorite restaurant, Ravioli's. If you have have not been to this place you really need to go. The food is always phenomenal, the service is always GREAT, and the chef comes out every time we have been there to ask how the meal was, it is amazing. It is in Lake Elsinore of all places, right on main street, in Old Lake Elsinore. It is pricey, but for how good the food is, and the service and ambiance, it is so worth it. We only go on special occasions, although we try to turn everything into a special occasion now that we found this place.

I was pretty excited about this.

We didn't like it apparently.

Love You my darling! I can't wait to be old and wrinkly with you!!

Before and After

Since joining the Academy Bo has lost 15 pounds and 3 inches off his waist, which has had me looking for some new pants for him. Here is his picture the first day of the Academy, February 5th, 2008. He still looks good to me.

This is Bo now after 18 weeks of getting his fanny kicked, I thought he looked amazing before...but hot dang!! These are also his Class A uniforms, the uniform he will be wearing for the next however many years as a Sheriff. Tell me he doesn't look good!
