Baby Sister!

As some of you may know...we are going to be having another girl! Lord willing she will make her appearance sometime the last week of July, as of right now I am due the 25th, but was measuring small so it may be later. Either way...we are thrilled! I was kind of relived when they said "girl", only because it makes it so easy. Here are some pictures of our sweet gift.

She was constantly moving! They were having a really hard time getting the pictures and measurements that they actually need, so these are some of the best shots they were able to get. The ultrasound was over an hour and half long!! She was not being cooperative at all, the tech had to call in another lady (with more experience) to help her!
(they went to take a picture of where the cord is attached and her little hand was holding on right where they needed to look, stubborn already! ooh no)

This is a close up of her nose and lips
Her face, looking right at us. (they are kind of creepy looking at this stage)
Her spine, face down.
And her right arm and little fist.
I love how much detail you can already see, the chambers of the heart, the different lobes of the brain, it is amazing! Our God is so glorious, this makes me just praise Him all the more. I am thankful for a healthy baby so far, we pray she continues to grow well.

Box Fun!

I am never buying toys! Box from Costco has proven to be Isla's new favorite toy (second to her rocking chair! Huh?!?!) She played in this thing for a good half hour. So funny.
She would crawl in and out, bring her blankie in, then out.

Can I sleep in here mama? (she looks so big here)

Not sure what this face is...
Buddy joined in on the fun for a moment.
I think this is her pose now, she does it all the time.
A little hand clapping for a great idea!
A big cheesy smile!

Out again...
she may have been stuck...
Not for long! And she's off again.....

My little 1 year old baby...

I am in awe how fast time can go! I know everyone told me it would happen, but geez! On the 5th Isla Jane turned one year. It was so cool to reflect on the events of that same day in 2010, how exhausted we were, how excited, and how our lives completely changed forever. It has been an honor to be Isla's mother, she has been an incredible tool in my sanctification this year, parenting is an amazing blessing. It seems that actual parenting (discipline and instruction) has just started, the first year seemed more like raising, which actually doesn't stop til they leave and cleave I guess. Her little sinful traits are already very apparent unfortunately. I hate seeing sin in my precious girl, it makes me so sad to know that if it is not fought it will manifest into worse things. But it makes me diligent to discipline her already. It seems that being with her all day I get the worst and best of her personality, she definitely gives me a much harder time than she gives Bo. Diaper changes and getting dressed are a challenge between Isla and I, but for Bo she is totally compliant! So not fair. Bo says it is always the person they are closest to that they hurt the most, I hope thats not true, but I know it is. I want to have a relationship with her that is respectful and open, loving and firm, instruction and opinions, all in order to help show her how much more Christ loves her than I do. I am thankful to have such excellent examples of Godly parenting in my life....I will be watching you all!!

This is my girl...just 10 days old. So small and precious. (BTW thank you Tracy Dodson Photography for helping us capture these milestones in her tiny baby life. I am so so thankful to have you as a friend!(for more reasons than just pictures though)
This is 3 months- such a happy girl already. Rolling over, cooing a lot, sleeping at least 8 hours every night!
6 months- all she did was laugh! She was crawling, and standing when we placed her next to things, more into toys and having to be entertained. Sleeping a good 10-12 hours every night. Loving solid foods already!
9 Months- pulling up on everything, excited to see her daddy when he came home!, Such a big eater, crawling way too fast, still sleeping great and taking 2 long naps everyday, says a couple words, has 2 teeth.
1 year!!- Crazy girl, active, into all kinds of things, loves her dog Buddy and says his name whenever she sees him, has a pretty big vocabulary for a 1 year old, eats anything and everything you give her, has 7 teeth, walking really good, is a total daddy's girl, dances to anything that remotely seems like music, loves playing with her cousins!
Eating her first cupcake!
She wasn't as into it as I thought she would be, but she isn't a big sweets lover (not like her mom!), she must have that gene from the Sivilay side.
little ham.
She had a cute little party dress on, thankfully she had taken a good nap that morning so she was a happy girl for the whole party, right up until the end. I love this sweet little face.
She kept playing with it, it was cute.

Little chubby feet in the grass.
We got a jumper and she actually had way more fun in it than I thought she would, actually I wasn't planning for her to go in it at all, but her Aunt Lisa brought her in with her. We had about 15 kids, all ranging from 10 months to 10 years, so I wasn't even going to try to entertain them all, the jumper was a perfect solution.
opening gifts. There was an outfit change (not by me) after the cake.
One of the only pictures of me actually with her! I felt like everyone kept taking her away, at the end of the day I actually missed her! Crazy how that is. We actually didn't even get one family picture on that day. Thankfully, Tracy got some when we did her one year photos.
Birthday girl with her daddy!
The cupcakes I made, Strawberry lemonade flavored cake with lemon curd filling, and strawberry lemonade swiss meringue buttercream frosting. They were tart, but turned out really good, everyone said they were delish.
I also had dehydrated some lemon slices. I sliced lemons we had from our tree and dipped the pieces in sugar and dried them, they turned out so good, like lemon candy!

Caged!

Well not really....obviously I don't lock her in here. She thinks Buddy's kennel is great, no matter how many time she has been in trouble for climbing in there she still thinks its so fun to go back and look at me through the bars. Of course she does that cute "Hi!" thing too as her little face is smashed up against the cage looking at me. This time I let it go, I was washing all of our dogs bedding so there was nothing in there. Most of the time she wants to go in there when Buddy is actually in there, not going to happen.

Little sneaky face...."hi mama, I know I'm not supposed to be in here, but look how cute I am"

I guess if I was little and could fit in there like that I would want to go in there too, its like a little fort.

Such a goof.

Almost 1 Year!

Well I am a horrible Blogger. It is something I really want to get better at this year for a number of reasons. 1. Isla changes so much and so fast and I am worried that if I don't start writing things down more, and taking more pictures my weak memory will once again forget special things. 2. We have another baby on the way! I am about 15 weeks along this week. I am only going to get worse at keeping track of things, so if I set aside a time every week to make sure I post something, I think we can stay on track! 3. I want to get it printed at the end of the year.

So my girl is going to be 1 year old in 6 days. I cannot believe this. It seems someone took 6 months out of the calendar this year and just threw it away and everyone went on and no one said anything! I keep thinking..."did I make the most of my time with her??" I am so incredibly thankful to the Lord for providing my hard working husband with a job that allows me to stay home with our sweet Isla. I can't imagine running out the door every morning, dropping her off at daycare every day, rushing to get home, tending to my home, and trying to have quality time with my daughter and husband. It seems practically impossible.

Isla is a huge joy in our lives. I miss her when I am away for a couple hours, I can't wait to get home and see her smiling little face. She is by far the easiest baby ever. She sleeps 12-13 hours every night, take 2 good naps during the day, has never refused any kind of food we offer her (except milk! I can't get her to drink Milk!), totally goes with the flow, if we keep her up late, she is happy, if she misses a nap...she is happy. I couldn't ask for anything easier, the Lord has been so gracious! I pray this next little love will follow in their big sisters foot steps :-) We can only hope. She has been learning to talk quite a bit. She can say Dada, Mama (one of her favs), Buddy (our dog), Dog, Ball, Hi, Yeah!, NO!, Buh Bye, Baby, Ni Night, Yay!, Isla (she thinks every baby she sees is Isla). Recently I think she has been trying to say Hungry, drink, more, and Judah (her best cousin friend). For a while, and occasionally on her own time, she would say "Thank you" PERFECTLY! It was bizarre. We tested it out a ton of times because we couldn't believe our ears, and she said it like 10 times in a row! I wish we could have recorded it, but you know how they are, as soon as the camera comes out, they all the sudden forget everything!

She started taking tons of steps, on her 11 month birthday she took about 8 steps in a row! She now can follow me all over the house, but sometimes resorts to crawling since she can get places faster and with less injury. She never ever cries when she falls, sometime she will fall so hard, and just sit up, grunt, and keep on going. We laugh, but sometimes I question if she is really okay! I know if she does cry though, it really did hurt, so of course we baby her then :-)

I am crazy about her and her little smile and dimples! So hard to resist squeezing her sometimes.
One of her favorite foods is kidney beans, I know it sounds weird, but they are actually kind of tasty. A little sweet too, lots of fiber and protein and perfect size and texture for babies. I buy the ones in the can, and rinse them really good. We take them for a snack when I have lots of errands and shopping to do.
She was laughing so hard when she was "feeding" me, she is quite the Indian giver.
We laugh a lot together. She thinks I am hilarious, and I think she is hilarious so it works out great :-)
She love love loves her Dada. She get sooooo excited to see him when he gets home, and she always asks for him as soon as she gets up.
She has about 6 teeth so far, 4 on top, and 2 on bottom. Another on the bottom is just popping through.
They were "smelling" the flowers and she thought it was so funny!

Her favorite activity at the moment is pushing anything and everything she can around the house and kitchen. This is our step stool, we keep it under the desk in our kitchen. She climbs under there and pushes it out from the back. While she is under there she often peaks out to look at me and says "hi!" with a big smile on her face, one of my favorite things she does.
there she goes, shoving it around!
Daddy getting a bath ready for her, I couldn't resist this cute picture with Buddy looking on, I love her in just a diaper. Babies have the cutest little disproportional bodies.
cute little sleepy face. She is going to have short little thick legs like her dad, and unfortunately her mom has them too.

Until next time!.......
