More of Isla girl

She has been so much fun to have home. We are falling more in love with her everyday, and more of her little self comes out all the time. We are so thankful that she is healthy and thriving! God is good!

Isla with Grandma Robbin
She does like her thumb, when she finds it she goes nuts! She loves her pacifier all other times.
we went to Idyllwild with the Dietrichs and my mom, our first "big " outing.
Judah and Isla in their bear suits. It was warm out, but they were cute.
Isla and her daddy, she loves him.
Many more pictures to come!............................

Isla Jane Seo Sivilay
02/05/10

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it...You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you.Oh give thanks to the Lord , for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! (Psalm 118:24-29)

My family is now a family with the birth of our daughter Isla. Our lives have changed in a more dramatic way than I imagined. A weight of responsibility and an overwhelming paranoia fell upon me like a crashing wave. I have never been more concerned for the health and well being of a person in this way. I love my wife but she is capable of caring for herself, Isla on the other hand is completely helpless. I am driven to my knees with continual prayer that the Lord would care for her and keep her. My wife has been doing a great job and the Lord has blessed us with a child of ease. Isla so far only wakes up once a night to be fed and sleep the entire time. She constantly smiles for unknown reasons and is generally happy as far as we can tell. A great disposition and one that I pray she will continue to have.

"May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young"

Huntington Library

I have been wanting to take Bo to the Huntington Library for a long time now, finally we just decided to go. We are taking advantage of these last few weeks before Isla comes. Bo had some extra days off this week because of a schedule change, so it has been really nice! We made reservations for tea in the rose garden, it was pricey, but it is really fun! It would be a cute thing to do for a little girls birthday, maybe with a few friends. The whole place is beautiful! It is immaculate, there are tons of amazing gardens to look at, and artwork and artifacts. We love this kind of stuff. I went with our home school group maybe about 8 years ago now, so it had been quite a while, but it was just how I remembered it.

Bo was the photographer for the day :-)

One part of the Gutenberg Bible, it is so awesome, the penmanship is out of this world, nobody writes like that anymore, it is so detailed.

They had a huge display of light bulbs from over the years, it was actually pretty neat to look at.

Just some of the grounds, this is heading towards the rose gardens, which weren't really blooming obviously, it would be beautiful to go in a season where everything had flowers. We walked a ton!! Well... a ton for this pregnant girl!

3 More weeks (+/-)!! This would be a great place to take pictures when all the roses are in bloom.

There are lots of bronze sculptures all over.
The Entrance of the Japanese Gardens

This is walking into the Japanese gardens, they are incredible! There is a huge koi pond.
The Cherry blossoms were in bloom!
part of the bamboo forest.
Classic Asian ;-)

It was a great day! If you get the chance to go, you really should, it is open about 4 hours per day in the winter time, 12pm-4pm, but in the Summer the hours are longer. The drive was really easy too, it only took us about and hour and 10 minutes to get there, and you drive through this beautiful neighborhood in Pasadena to get there, I could have just drove around and looked at all the houses.

Home made pasta for my Love

On our last date night Hannah and I went to an Italian restaurant in Temecula called Francescas (highly recommended) and we split a lobster ravioli dish that was about $18 dollars. I was driving to work a couple days after and thought about how expensive raviolis are at restaurants and about how I have never made raviolis before so I decided to go for it. My first effort was at uncle George and aunt Cindy's house but I didn't like the way the pasta tasted it was chewy and tasteless. I found a pasta dough recipe that was adapted from Thomas Keller's French Laundry Cookbook which turned out perfect. Here is a look at my second attempt at raviolis in my own kitchen.

Ingredients you will need: 6 large whole eggs plus 1 large egg yolk, 1 + 3/4 cups of all purpose flour, 1+ 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil, 1 table spoon of milk

work the eggs, oil and milk into the flour. I had to add more flour to the recipe until I was able to form it into a ball. The recipe also said to knead the snot out of this dough so I kneaded for like 30 minutes. I need to go back to the gym as you can see in these photos.

You can pretty much stuff raviolis with anything. I went with real crab meat, leeks, sage, garlic, mushrooms and ricotta cheese mixture

The finished product, Hannah really liked it and I was stoked that the pasta dough was tender and flavorful.

The sauce was made with fresh carrot juice, sun dried tomatoes, leeks, garlic, and butter. The fried Sage leaves were a great addition to the raviolis. Hannah made a caprese salad and I cooked some asparagus to go along with them. The entire meal cost about $20 dollars and we could have fed around 8 people however I spent a total of 4 hours in the kitchen. We would like to host a pasta night soon so let us know if your interested.

The many faces of....

BUDDY SIVILAY!
He is a character, he makes us laugh all the time.
He loves to get "tucked in" to bed at night....

He loves to sunbathe, in random places in the backyard, in random positions....

This is how I find him napping most days.....

He does have a sweet face.....we think anyway....

This was all on his own...I turned around and he was just sitting there like this...what a weirdo.

He loves Bo.

I think he was a little bit upset that we left him home when we went on vacation...so he was trying to prove that he could go on the next one.

We love him. Even though he is a pain sometimes. He has lots of personality, and fits into our family perfect. I say he is Bo in dog form sometimes.

New Years Eve 2009!

I am so amazed that 2010 is here...really blows my mind for some reason. 2009 went so fast, I am pretty sure we skipped a couple months or something.

I am so thankful for all that 2009 brought. Lots of babies! Including me finding out in May that we were expecting, then getting laid off from my job in June (actually a relief being that I had morning sickness til I was 18 weeks.) God totally provides though. Bo's job is an incredible blessing. I am so thankful for my hard working husband, always willing to pick up extra shifts, he goes without adequate sleep on most days, always has such a good attitude about work even though I know it is hard for him to leave and be so far from home. He really is amazing.

New Years eve this year was a blast! Kaleo threw a party at the FBC Temecula Location. We are blessed with such great friends. Here are some pictures from the night. Lots of laughs!

The Whites planned all of the decor! It looked awesome.
a gruesome game of Musical chairs.
Renee wore a blond wig, and most people thought it was her real hair!
Crystal, Brianna, Jaime, Jossie, and Kelly
We had a Wii station set up, and Rockband.
Some lovely ladies that I get to serve with and call friends.
Bo and Avary
Happy New Year!
I pray 2010 brings Christs return! What a great year it would be! If He doesn't come, I pray it is filled with growth in our Lord Jesus Christ, seeing people come to know that saving grace, and hearts ready to serve at whatever the cost.

Christmas 2009

I am so bad at keeping this updated. Sometimes I just feel like we have nothing exciting to share. I know I will be posting on here more when Isla comes, she will be much more exciting that just Bo and I ;-)

Well for Christmas we went to Mammoth for 5 days, we stay at my Uncle and Aunts house. It is so beautiful up there, pictures never do it justice. Bo snowboarded 2 days and me being 7 1/2 months pregnant hung out with my aunt who just had a knee replacement, and my other aunt who was enjoying having time off work. I learned how to knit in all my free time from my aunt Jane, I am very excited about this new hobby. (Sidenote: I also received a sewing machine from my Grandma Lola for Christmas! I really can't wait to be more comfortable on it, we have to hem every pair of pants Bo gets so this should save us some money there :-) We cooked a lot, played the Wii, and laughed our heads off like always when we are all together. I LOVE my family. Here are a couple pictures from the trip.
All of our stockings....this was a small group this year too.
Fresh Snow! It snowed about 12 inches the night we got there. Perfect.
